Prenuptial Agreement

If you are marrying you may want to try and agree with your partner how property is owned. How property or belongings that you acquire during the course of the marriage will be owned and what might happen to property and assets in the event the marriage does not last. Although, in the past the courts have not had any regard for prenuptial agreements and they were not enforceable. However, it is now accepted that in certain circumstances, these will be upheld unless there is a good reason otherwise.
